Loader set for new flight pattern

PERTH-based CJD Equipment hasn’t wasted its time taking a sizeable share of the Australian wheeled loader market. Since it was made exclusive reseller for Chinese manufacturing giant Shandong Lingong Machinery Company (SDLG) in Australia and Papua New Guinea in March 2010, SDLG products have been sold into various industry sectors including agriculture.

But CJD national sales manager Kevin Jones and the company’s regional sales manager Peter Davis had an unusual task last week delivering a SDLG 938 loader to Jandakot Airport owners Ascot Capital.
Rather than taking to the air, the 938 will be “flying” around the airport as a multi-task vehicle involved in earth-mowing, as a tool carrier, crane jib and general maintenance work.

According to Kevin three SDLG models are finding favour with farmers -- the LG958L, LG938L and LG936L with power ratings between 93kW (125hp) and 160kW (215hp). About 350 SDLG loaders have been sold in Australia with owner feedback strongly rating reliability and performance, apart from competitive pricing.

The SDLG wheeled loaders boast industry-leading components including Cummins engines and ZF transmissions and axles and are in demand by farmers, contractors and local government. With standard Quick-hitch, the SDLG models can handle a range of accessories to increase job performance from materials handling to moving and stacking hay and silage bales and post-hole digging. Each wheeled loader comes standard with certified ROPS/FOPS and certified Australian Standards accessories, including a hydraulic Quick-hitch.

Bucket capacities range from 1.8 cubic metres to three cubic metres, with an option for a four-in-one bucket or a range of light materials buckets. The SDLG loaders boast a spacious cabin with excellent operator visibility. Cab comfort is reflected by ducted air-conditioning, air cushion operator’s seat and ergonomic controls.

According to Kevin, wheeled loaders are becoming the equipment of choice for heavy duty materials handling applications.
“Whether it’s digging out clay from a paddock pit or general purpose work around the farm, these loaders are seen as ideal,” he said. “They are reliable, very price competitive and, importantly, SDLG has a comprehensive service and support network.
“In fact with 50 outlets throughout Australia (22 in WA), we have experienced service technicians available to meet customer needs.”
CJD Equipment is also the Australian distributor for Volvo Construction Equipment, who is the majority owner SDLG.

The SDLG products are distributed in all major capital cities and regional areas throughout Australia.
CJD Equipment is one of Australia’s largest privately owned construction equipment distributers with a history of 36 years of achievement and performance in the industry.
“As Shandong Lingong Machinery manufactures nearly 20,000 wheel loaders each year and is recognised as one of China’s leading earthmoving equipment manufacturers, customers can feel confident that SDLG Australia is clearly focused on the development of reliable productive units that will stand the test of time,” Kevin said. “The association and involvement of Volvo engineers will only add value to what is already a very good product line.”
